Val D Isere Ski & Snowboard

STORY / GAMEPLAY
This is a ski / snowboard sports game so the main purpose is to win. The races take place entirely at the French Val D'Isere resort. There are three modes in both skiing and snowboarding and 1 or 2 players competitions (but not simultaneous). Snowboarding has a different perspective than skiing, but the feel and the controls are the same. Although there's nothing much to say about the gameplay, the game is quite addictive as these kinds of games can be really fun.

GRAPHICS / SOUND
The game is a direct port from the 16bit Nintendo SNES & Sega Mega Drive / Genesis consoles and thus the developers did not use the power of the Jaguar to improve it! Nevertheless, the game features fast animation and scaled 2D sprites. I like the photo-realistic backgrounds (mountains) but the rest of the visual details are blunt. The game's sound is good, featuring some nice in-game music tunes but no sound effects (!)
